Keira Howley - The Power of Being Present

I used to get in my head more often than not, and it slowly chipped away at my confidence and overall performance, leading me to doubt myself in almost every aspect. This was something I had dealt with for the first 2 years of my college career. This year has felt like the first time in a while that I can play loose, play confidently, and really be present in the moment, enjoying every second of it. I’ve taken up meditation, which has really helped me become grounded and present. Over time, I've learned to be out of my head, and the less I am out of my head, the better I perform.

My advice to anyone going through a hard time right now is that you are not alone. There are so many resources for you to get back on track. Remember the work you put in to get where you are, and know that the continuous effort never goes unnoticed. Keep being you, and good things are on the way.
